At Hunter Subaru, weāre always ready to step up and support our communities, especially in times of crisis. This commitment is at the heart of the Subaru Love PromiseĀ®. When Hurricanes Helene and Milton devastated the Eastern region, Subaru retailers like us immediately sprang into action. Alongside other Subaru retailers, Subaru of America, and local organizations, we assessed the most urgent needs in the affected areas. It quickly became clear that local food banks were struggling to keep up with the surge in demand as they worked to support people hit hardest by the storms. In response, we teamed up with 67 Subaru retailers across the region to launch a $400,000 match campaign to aid the hurricane relief efforts of Feeding AmericaĀ®. Hunter Subaru proudly contributed $5000 to this initiative. While the immediate impact of the storms fades from the headlines, many of our neighbors continue to face long-term challenges like food insecurity, water shortages, power outages, and limited access to essential services. Thanks to the collective generosity of Subaru retailers and the communities we serve, an additional $18,427 was raised. This brings the total impact to $418,427, or over 4,100,000 meals for those in need. "As one of the nation's largest disaster relief organizations, the Feeding America network of food banks and partner agencies is deeply rooted in communities across the country. Together, our partnership with trusted Subaru dealers has helped expedite emergency food assistance and supplies to people who need it most. We are immensely grateful," said Feeding America Chief Development Officer Casey Marsh.

During Subaru Loves Pets month, we were able to find a home for our most beloved and deserving "underdog" named Smokey. In our line of work, we connect with many people and their pets whether it is through adoptions, community support, or even our thrift store. When it comes to animals we help through our Community Support Services, we sometimes develop even longer relationships with those families because of how often we see them. Those connections sometimes come full circle, and we end up helping these animals again if they need a new home. Smokey is a dog that our Community Support Team helped for several years to get a fence built for him as well as being neutered and making sure his vaccines stayed up to date. Every interaction with Smokey was a positive one, and he was the best medical patient during our vaccine clinics. These ongoing interactions turned into a great love and fondness for Smokey and his well-being. When our staff discovered that his owner passed away, they wanted to make sure Smokey was still being cared for. Unfortunately, his ownerās family tried their best to care for Smokey, but they could not commit to giving him a new home. Now being a large senior dog with a few hearing issues, we knew that his options may be limited, and a rehoming process would take a while for Smokey. Since we already knew Smokeyās personality, medical background, and where he came from, we agreed to take Smokey into our care and give him another shot at a happy life! It can be so confusing when an animal loses their owner unexpectedly, and we wanted to try to give Smokey some sense of familiarity and comfort. When he arrived at our Adoption Center, he quickly stole all of the staffās hearts and they couldnāt get enough of his easy-going and sweet demeanor. Despite being the definition of a gentle giant, we knew he may hang out with us a bit longer than other dogs. Smokey is around 7 years old, with some hearing loss along with needing to lose around 10lbs. Smokey required a pricey allergy medication called Apoquel, a medication for chronic dry eye, joint supplements, and a bit more medical care than our average dog. He ended up in foster care with one of our adoption counselors for almost a month before finding his new family, 50 days after arriving at our Adoption Center for adoption. Smokey's new family was probably the most perfect ending to his stay with us because it truly became a full-circle story after Erin and Matt decided to bring Smokey home. The husband is a first responder who had first met Smokey while working after responding to calls where Smokey's original owner who passed away needed assistance. When they heard about him arriving at Blue Ridge Humane Society, they couldn't stop thinking about him and finally reached out to us to meet him and do a dog meet. Not only are they a hard-working family that treats their dogs like they were children but their other two dogs, Brutis and Princess Diana were also adopted from our organization. Here is more from Smokey's adopter after our initial check-in: "When we did the dog meet the boys were the first ones to get along. It was like they had known each other forever. They were immediate friends. Despite his medical things, Smokey is a gentle easy going dog and deserved the best. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have met and we are so lucky to have him!" We are so fortunate to have been a part of Subaru Loves Pets and love that we can share Smokey's, Love Promise Story. It truly takes a village to help create happy endings for animals in need of loving homes. We are thankful for everyone's support and amazing adopters like Erin and Matt!

Runners at the 8th Annual Trick or Trail 5k were delighted to start and finish the race this year in Downtown Hendersonville at the Farmers Market. The annual event is typically held in Dupont State Forest and was relocated this year due to construction. Families, friends and kids of all ages showed up and ran their hearts out on October 22nd for the first race to start and finish at the Farmers Market. The race benefitted three local non-profits - the Henderson County Boys and Girls Club, Friends of Dupont and the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville. Our goal was to have 100+ art supplies to donate to the Boys and Girls Club and we blew past our goal! We had a blast collected the supplies and giving them to the kids at the club. The race also helped the City of Hendersonville to fund their SNAP program, which allows locals to get fresh fruits and vegetables at the Farmers Market with special vouchers. Thank you Hunter Subaru for your commitment to community and to helping these events take place to support our local non-profits and charity partners and the runners too!

The 3rd Annual Black Bear Half Marathon & 8k brought nearly 700 regional and local runners to Hendersonville on Sunday, October 9, 2023. Goals were achieved and lives were changed! There were nearly 200 runners in the 2nd Annual Appalachian Trilogy that day!! (Runners completed three out of four half marathons on the iDaph Events schedule in 2022!) Thanks to Hunter Subaru we were able to give back to the Jackson Park Flood Fund to raise money for the portion of the greenway that constantly gets flooded and connects Jackson and Patton Parks. And the race supported the Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway and their preservation and conservation of the beautiful greenway in Hendersonville. And then finally money was raised for iDream Athletes Foundation and for scholarships for youth and adults that need assistance with race entry fees and equipment. Thank you Hunter Subaru for your continued support of these community events!

Many thanks for making this car buying experience less stressful and let you know how pleased I am with my first Subaru. It was helpful to join Nancy this spring when she was having her car serviced so I could meet Brandon. In June I returned with my nephew to "build" my car and was glad to have Brandon's help. How special to get my car two months later and spend time with Jackie to finalize the sale. Brandon knew my license had expired (it took two months to get an appt. at the DMV to get a Real ID) so then had an email from Jackie saying there was a problem getting my car title. By that time I had a copy of the new license that I sent to her. Ten days after getting the car, it was so helpful to have time with Laura to have a "tutorial" on the many features of my new car. She patiently answered the questions that were four pages long. This past week I drove to W. Jefferson and was so pleased with how the car handled on the curvy roads, the gas mileage, and the helpful navigation system. Thank you for making this buying experience less stressful for me. I got my last car from AAA and all the cars during the previous 50 years were assisted by my father who died in 2016 at the age of 109. He was a professor and preacher but loved buying/trading cars!

Part of the benefit of working with so many non-profits is bridging the gap between the resources. Hunter was able to bring women from our partner non-profit organizations, Boys and Girls Club and OpenDoors AVL, to attend a leadership seminar empowering women to become leaders and build their toolbox to success. Exposure to what we can do as individuals only continues to drive the determination of the next generation of leaders in our community. This event was hosted by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce.

A group of team members from Hunter participated in a two-mile trail cleanup day on Monday. The Ecusta Trail project will be a 19.4-mile multi-use greenway along an unused railway corridor connecting Hendersonville and Brevard. This 'linear park' will beckon people of all ages and abilities to reach destinations by walking, running, biking and wheelchair. The rail line meanders through fields and forests, beside streams, pastures, and country churches, offering a picture-book walk through a life nurtured and cradled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We were so excited to be able to get out and help clean up this trail as we look forward to using it in the future. The Hunter Automotive Group holds Hunter Hometown Projects throughout the year to give employees time to support local non-profits as part of our mission to improve the quality of life for everyone.

A huge thank you to Hunter Subaru for their sponsorship to Transylvania Little League. Hunter Subaru is an incredible partner. Not only did they send us a sponsorship but a representative came out to our opening ceremonies. Their commitment to their community and surrounding communities is unmatched. Thanks again for helping our kids have such a great season.

This summer, Hunter Subaru helped impact hundreds of childrenās lives in Henderson County by graciously sponsoring both the clubās annual Drive for Kids Tournament and their Celebration Dinner Gala. Together these two events raised over $110,000 for the club, and it would not have been possible without Hunter Subaru. At the Club, children and youth learn how to be productive, responsible, and caring citizens in this community. They learn about math and reading. But also, they learn how to interact in positive ways with one another. They learn that there are adults who believe in them and believe that they will be a success. And of course, they learn how to play and have fun. And each child has access to our programs for only $5 per year. Hunter Subaru prioritizes learning and growing in positive ways. They fully support our mission and have continued to partner with us for 19 years, showing their dedication to the cause and how much they care for young people in this community. The Club is forever grateful to them for their continued sponsorships, which make all that the Club does possible.

Blue Ridge Humane Society is proud to partner with Hunter Subaru each year for the Strut Your Mutt 5k and 1-Mile Furry Scurry! This fun event attracts humans from across the region and even states away, who love to run or walk with their best furry friends, in an effort to raise critical funds that enable BRHS to help even more animals find loving homes. Because of Hunter Subaruās promotion and presenting sponsorship of this event, it just keeps getting better every year! We saw a 68% increase in registrations this year, and added a pet festival where humans and their pets enjoyed Bill Moore Park in Fletcher even longer while visiting with local vendors and businesses. The Subaru dog toys were a huge hit with our furry friends while their humans enjoyed checking out the beautiful Hunter Subaru Ascent! Because of Hunter Subaru, BRHS is able to continue and increase our work to benefit pets, their families, and the entire community. We are grateful to you, Randy, Tom, Kate, and the entire Hunter Subaru team! *Photos courtesy of Paula Roberts Photography

The 3rd Annual Hendersonville Triathlon took place on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 and was a blast! Thanks to all the community support and Hunter Subaru helping to fund this event! This year the race supported three charitable organizations in our community: The Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway, Hendersonville YMCA and iDream Athletes Foundation. Thank you for continuing to support the triathlon and our athletes in WNC!

Hunter Subaru was a huge help for our local travel youth baseball team. This was our first year together as the team so we needed as much help as possible for the young men to have a great season. Hunter Subaru generously donated with no problem, and we were able to get a NEW PITCHING MACHINE which trained our boys to be the best they could be. The whole team was very proud to have Hunter Subaru as a sponsor.

I purchased Subaru Impreza in March 22 at Hunter Subaru on 280. Gala Rice was my sales representative, she was very patient, friendly and helpful in every way possible. After I took my car home she called most every week to ask if I still love my car or there is anything she can do to help with any issue I might have. I had some accessories put on my new car, unfortunately when they friend to put the back bumper plastic cover it tore. So I had to go back 2 weeks later, some mix up at the service department and it did not get put on. When no one called after a week to make a new appointment for me, I called Gala Rice and asked if she could help me with this issue. She went right to work, got service manager William involved and every thing got resolved with a week. Service manger William not only made sure the job gets done right but provided me Valet service so would would not have to drive 45 mins the 3rd time for the same job, he made sure I had the loaner so I would not be left without a car. When my car got back the next day I was surprised to see that I was washed and cleaned inside out and had a full tank of gas. William also called me with updates so I was not left to wonder whatās going on with my car. These two individuals went above and beyond to make things right for me. I am very please with the service I received and you bet I wonāt hesitate to recommend Hunter Subaru to me friends and family.

Recently at Blue Ridge Community College, Hunter Subaru made a HUGE investment in our students, their future, and our automotive program by donating a 2007 Subaru Legacy! Because of their consistent support and partnership, our students will be able to receive the hands-on experience and knowledge needed to prepare them for the automotive industry and this donated vehicle will be used for various classes throughout our automotive program. This exemplifies Hunter's investment in the community and commitment to making a positive impact. BRCC and the Automotive Program are very thankful for Hunter Subaru and the difference they are making in the lives of our students and those in the Henderson County community!

The Assault on the Carolinas (AOTC) is the primary fund raiser for the Rotary Club of Pisgah Forest. Raising over $60,000 per year, it enables the club to fund grants, service projects, and scholarships to support our community in four key areas: education, health, youth, and hunger. For the last 5 years, Hunter Subaru has been our premier sponsor, leading the way and setting the bar high for the other generous sponsors who make the event possible. Our Rotary Club is able to leverage sponsor donations through this event, over tripling sponsor dollars in order to make meaningful, sustainable impact on organizations like the Boys and Girls Club, The Sharing House (providing food and supplies for our neighbors in need), SAFE (providing safe haven and support service for victims of domestic violence), and The Family place (provide support services for families in need). In addition, we are able to provide scholarships to help young people move on to higher education, or to attend trade schools to ensure their future success. On top of the charitable funding, the AOTC also brings much needed economic support to our mountain community. Every year that we host the event, our participants provide over a quarter of a million dollars in positive economic impact to our community by shopping in our stores, eating in our restaurants and staying in our inns and hotels. All of this is made possible by the generous donations and support of our sponsors, lead by our Premier Sponsor: Hunter Subaru. The Rotary Club of Pisgah Forest and the community that we support cannot thank them enough for their support and the shining example they set in our community.

Hunter Subaru generously sponsored our 2021 Summer concert series. Because of their support, we were able to book the Flashback band to perform at Blue Ghost Brewery last June. In July , Tuxedo Junction rocked the stage at the Firefly Meadow. Hunter Subaru truly helped to bring āliveā music back to the community of Fletcher. We are so grateful to have Randy, Kate and their whole Hunter team as community partners. We are looking forward to the 2022 summer Concert series starting in June!

Pisgah Project Day returned on Saturday, April 30th with more than 350 volunteers coming together to complete 23 improvement projects across the Pisgah Ranger District, all in a single day. Bridges and stairs were constructed, non-native invasive plant species were removed, graffiti was painted over, roadside trash was collected, bat boxes were installed, sections of various trails were rebuilt or maintained, and so much more. Thank you to Hunter Subaru and the Hunter Hometown Foundation for their generous support of PPD 2022. Not only did they participate as a sponsor, but they also brought a team of volunteers, donated Hunter tote bags for our volunteers, and brought their custom-wrapped Outback to the PPD after-party. It was a great day for Pisgah!

Hunter Subaru and their team have become great community partners! This year our organization decided to switch our indoor chili cook-off, to an outdoor wintery 5k race. This event was a way to help participants start the New Year in a healthy way. With the support from Kate and her team at Hunter Subaru, Fletcher Parks and Recreation was able to generate $1,400 for park development. The funds generated for park development are used to replace existing park necessities or help with the construction of new amenities. Thank you for your continied support in the Fletcher area!

Hunter Subaru has again made a difference in a local youthās life with the Youth of the Year competition at the Boys & Girls Club. Each year the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County honors a Club youth with the title āYouth of the Year.ā This Club member goes on to represent the Club at the state level and, if given the state title ā beyond to nationals. At its heart, the Youth of the Year program is a leadership program preparing youth to utilize their voice through essays, interviews, and speech platforms. We could not ask for a better partnership in this than Hunter Subaru. From the funds to make this competition possible to the college aid award they provide to the title winner, Hunter Subaru makes learning and leadership a priority and leads by example each day with their commitment to our community. We are so thankful for Hunter Subaru and all they do for our Club and youth each day!

The 30th Annual Frostbite Races 5k, 10k and One Mile races are the oldest set of races in Fletcher, North Carolina to still exist. Hunter Subaru has been a major part of these community events to be able to continue to take place year after year. The finishers all get finisher medals for completing the run or walk, a commemorative race shirt and a goody bag supplied by Hunter Subaru. With nearly a record number of participants for the annual races, the community has returned to racing and is making a larger effort to make health and wellness a priority. Thank you to Hunter Subaru for continuing to be part of this important event during a cold, wintry month when it is more challenging to be motivated to get exercise and move.

Blue Ridge Community College recently nominated Hunter Subaru and the Hunter Automotive Group for the 2021 Outstanding WIOA Henderson County Employer of the Year, citing Hunter's dedication to supporting workforce development and local apprenticeship opportunities. Hunter Subaru and the Hunter Automotive Group has served the Hendersonville area for 75 years, and has cultivated a strong presence in the community. This is why it is one of numerous automotive businesses taking part in Blue Ridge's apprenticeship program, Apprenticeship Blue Ridge. Hunter Corporation President and CEO Tom Hunter (pictured) stated "We are immensely grateful to Blue Ridge Community College for nominating us, and to Mountain Area Workforce Development Board for awarding us this honor. We work every day to improve the quality of life for everyone, and the Automotive Apprenticeship program can make a huge impact by helping local youth find sustainable career opportunities in our industry." Hunter also praised his employees and added "I specifically credit team members Kirk Firmin, William Skinner, Tim Walters, and Renay Winston who collaborated to make the program possible." Blue Ridge President Dr. Laura Leatherwood praised Hunter Automotive for its strong communal ties. "When our students work as apprentices at a business like Hunter Subaru and the Hunter Automotive Group, they're being taught how to enter a local occupation by local professionals. You can't get more 'hands-on' than that," Leatherwood said. The College offers four different apprenticeship pathways, including automotive, business and banking, manufacturing, and electrical. Hunter Subaru and Hunter Automotive is one of the longtime automotive partners helping students earn while they learn. Apprenticeship Blue Ridge is incredibly competitive, consisting of a six semester, 720-contact hour, 4,000-hour on-the-job training registered apprenticeship program. Apprentices attend class one day per week at the College, then work at their respective business the other four days, all while being paid for their time. "Our apprentices receive free tuition, and there is a multitude of stackable credentials earned throughout the program," stated Dr. Scott Queen, Vice President of Economic and Workforce Development at Blue Ridge. "Hunter Automotive Group is an exceptional partner, which is why we're so proud to nominate them for this award." Through Apprenticeship Blue Ridge's partnership with Hunter Subaru and Hunter Automotive, 24 recent high school graduates have started on an automotive career path over the past two years.ļ»æTo learn more about Apprenticeship Blue Ridge and its relationship with other local employers, visit www.blueridge.edu/apprenticeships.

The 2nd Annual Ugly Sweater Run took place at the Riveter near the brand new Hunter Subaru dealership off of Airport Road. The annual race takes place the first Saturday of December and doubled its attendance from its inaugural year last year. Thanks to Hunter Subaru we are able to offer some nice amenities to the runners as well as support two local charitable organizations. The Asheville Homebuilders Association Education Foundation and Catalyst Sports Asheville were both non-profit partners with this years event. We are thankful that Hunter Subaru continues to support local running, the athletic community and these organizations that care deeply for the people in our local town. Without their support these events couldn't happen! Thank you Hunter Subaru for your generosity and giving spirit.

Janessa came to us like so many of our animals doā¦ a stray found and picked up by our local county animal services center. With no one to claim her, Blue Ridge Humane welcomed her with open arms. During her intake medical panel it was discovered that Janessa needed some serious dental work and was also heartworm positive. A heartworm diagnosis may be fatal without intervention and so we knew that Janessa would need to find that special family to administer the needed medication to clear up the infection and help her regain her health. While with us, we were able to tell that Janessa really was the sweetest and happiest girl, who loved walks with volunteers, kept her kennel spotless, and loved a good hard chew toy. A couple weeks after she arrived at our Adoption Center, we were able to place Janessa with a fantastic foster, who not only provided Janessa with her needed medical care, but also exposed her to other dogs and kids, who Janessa adored! Janessa joined us at the WLOS Pet Project adoption event hosted by Hunter Subaru to kick off Subaru Loves Pets Month. Within 5 minutes of her arrival, an older couple came to find her, knowing that she was going to be at the event. They had seen her mentioned online and read her profile, and knew that they needed to meet her. After talking with our adoption counselors about Janessa and her heartworm diagnosis and treatment plan, they shared that their daughter, who was with them, was a vet tech, and could help ensure Janessaās treatment plan continued smoothly. After completing the required paperwork, Janessa left with her new family, ready to start a wonderful, loved life, all thanks to the visibility that the adoption event had given her! Funds from Subaru Loves Pets and support from Hunter Subaru make providing the care for pets like Janessa possible, so that when they find their new family, there are no barriers to adoption and providing lifesaving medical treatments. Thank you Subaru for Making Janessaās Day!

Hunter Subaru partnered with Smart Start Partnership for Children this past year to raise funds for the organization through the Friends of Downtown Bearfootin' Bear Auction. Through these efforts $1900 were raised in unrestricted funds to help the early childhood nonprofit continue to build the strong foundation for young children in Henderson County. Smart Start Partnership for Children through these needed funds is building resiliency for the young children of Henderson County. They are providing scholarships for high quality early education; supporting early childhood educators; spreading early literacy; preparing rising Kindergarteners for their first day of school and their entire education; and supporting families of newborns through their newest activity, Family Connects. These initiatives are building resiliency, and Hunter Subaru is apart of that story. To learn more about the good work of Smart Start visit their website at www.smartstartpfc.org

The 2nd Annual Black Bear Half & 8k race was one for the history books! The sold out race returned to Hendersonville, NC on Saturday, October 9th. We were thrilled to have some of the race proceeds and Hunter Subaru's sponsorship support the Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway, the Jackson Park Flood fund as well as IC Imagine school. Leading up to the race the area experienced a LOT of rain. So much rain that it flooded the amazing flat and fast race course on the Oklawaha Greenway. We were bummed but knew the race must go on. So the race team pivoted to a completely different area to run the race that was not flooded and the City of Hendersonville fully supported the changes. Runners were in such good spirits that they were able to continue to run and to achieve those goals they worked so hard towards. After all, it takes months and months of dedication and hard work to train for a half marathon! There was no way that we were going to let mother nature change race plans! Our community of runners is so important to us. Thanks to Hunter Subaru we were able to pull in some last minute resources to help us with reinforcements on the new course. We also were able to raise some much needed funds for the Jackson Park flood fund so that they can continue to improve the areas within the park that flood quickly and easily. Thank you Hunter Subaru for continuing to support this annual event for our running community and the non-profits that are able to supplement their programs because of it!

The Annual Trick or Trail 5k took place on Saturday, October 23, 2021 with next-to-perfect fall running weather at Dupont State Forest. All abilities of community runners come out to enjoy the annual Costume Contest, the 5k trail race, s'mores and yummy hot soup at the finish line. This unique, night-time running event is not only the only race of its kind in WNC, it raises important funds for the mission of the Friends of Dupont organization. The Friends help protect, maintain and advocate for the entire trail network in Dupont. With the continued support of Hunter Subaru we were in turn able to help support the Friends of Dupont and their efforts. Thank you Hunter Subaru for giving back so much to our community. Your sponsorship of the race extends beyond just event day, it continues to spread into weeks and months to come through the good works of the Friends of Dupont.

Make-A-Wish and Hunter Subaru have been partnered for years, part of the Subaru Share the Love campaign each year. This year, 11 members from Hunter Subaru began a 14-week training session to gear up for a 28.3 mile one-day hike benefitting Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina. The team raised over $30,000 for the organization and had all 11 members partake in the hike weekend. The impact of these dollars granting wishes is so immense, and Hunter Subaru is the largest contributing team we have had in this fundraiser. This year, they were the top team and had 8 out of the 11 members complete the entire hike. Thank you again for Hunter Subaru for supporting this team and Make-A-Wish.

Hunter Subaru supported the News 13 WLOS Pet Event again in 2021! This event brings together the majority of the pet adoption agencies in the region in ONE location. Hunter Subaru hosted the event at their new campus in Fletcher and it was a highly successful event. Our biggest challenge was we adopted so many animals- we ran out of animals to adopt! We also had some senior and handicapped adoptions that really made the event a truly life saving event. The Hunter Subaru campus was perfect with the beautiful outdoor spaces and dog park! We can't thank Hunter Subaru enough for all of their amazing support of pets in need in our community.

The Oktoberfest Half Marathon and 5k helps converts a challenging run into funds for the Mills River Partnership as well as local schools. Our race took place on October 2, 2021 at the Oskar Blues Brewery. Hunter Subaru stepped up to be our presenting sponsor for this event in 2019 and hung with us as we had to postpone the race from 2020 to 2021. Knowing we had a solid supporter in Hunter Subaru, we were able to pull off the 2021 race and bring back one of the area's favorite new races. Thanks again to Hunter Subaru for "Sharing the Love" with the Oktoberfest Half, the Mills River Partnership, the Brevard Academy and the Friends of Pisgah Collective. Prost!

Thanks to Hunter Subaruās generous sponsorship, Conserving Carolina hosted a very successful Conservation Celebration fundraiser. This yearās event had to be held virtually, but we raised over $90,000 for conservation projects in Henderson, Transylvania, Polk, and surrounding counties. Hunterās investment makes a real difference in our community through land conservation and restoration, outdoor recreation, environmental education, and so much more. Right now this gift is opening new trails, like Youngs Mountain Trail in Lake Lure and the 19-mile Ecusta Trail greenway that will connect Hendersonville to Brevard, restoring natural floodplains like the one at Mud Creek in Mills River, engaging more people with conservation through outdoor challenges, bilingual nature walks, and forest bathing, and progressing climate solutions by protecting forests, and creating wildlife corridors. We are so grateful to Hunter Subaru for their commitment to our shared environment and community!

The 9th Annual Asheville Off Road Series, a run and bike style event took place at Ride Kanuga in Hendersonville, NC on Sunday, September 19th. This event was a fundraiser for St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization that dedicates dollars to research for childhood cancer. Thank you to Hunter Subaru for helping make this event possible this year at the relocated location. The event not only was an awesome, fun and challenging day for the trail runners, gravel grinder bike riders and the duathletes but it also had a bigger purpose. We are pleased to provide the platform for the St. Baldrick's organization to raise funds for research. Thank you Hunter Subaru for all your support at the event and with all you did to help make the event a success.

We were able to bring our summer concert series back to Fletcher because of the very generous sponsorship provided by Hunter Subaru. We held three community outdoor concerts at Blue Ghost Brewing Company in Fletcher this June, July, August. Over 500 people attended the events, and it was great to see families and individuals enjoying live music and spending time relaxing with friends in the Fire Fly meadow outside. Hunter Subaru does so many good things for our community and we are very thankful to be able to partner with them for our 2021 summer concert series in Fletcher. The local cyclist favorite hill climb event, the Jump off Rock Bike Hill Climb returned after a four year hiatus to the Town of Laurel Park on Sunday, August 8, 2021. Hunter Subaru helped make this dream become a reality with their support of the event for our local cycling community. Neighbors and friends that live along Laurel Park Scenic Highway came out to cheer on the cyclists as they had their own 'Tour de France' style climb in Hendersonville. Thank you Hunter Subaru for helping to bring this race back to town and for all your support!

It was truly paw-some to return to in-person (and in-pup) events with the support of Hunter Subaru this year! For our first major event of the year, Hunter Subaru partnered as presenting sponsor for the annual Strut Your Mutt 5k and 1 Mile Furry Scurry, raising funds, while having fun, for the animals cared for by Blue Ridge Humane! The event saw record enrollment and we loved sharing the excitement with our Hunter Subaru friends at both Fidoās Night Out-an exclusive dog-friendly event at the new Fletcher location the night before the run, and on race day! Blue Ridge Humane depends on local funding from both corporate partners and individuals donors. Having a partner like Hunter Subaru is a win-win every single year and results in that many more cats and dogs being saved and finding a home where they are loved, the foundation of the Subaru Love Promise.

Our community has more places to play outside, protected forests, restored rivers, and engagement opportunities thanks to Hunter Subaru. For Conserving Carolinaās Land Trust Day on June 6, Hunter Subaru provided a matching grant that helped us raise over $21,000! This funding supports exciting recreation and conservation projects. Thanks to Hunter Subaruās commitment to the environment, Conserving Carolina is opening new trails in Hickory Nut Gorge, working to convert the 19 mile Ecusta rail line to a new greenway that will connect Hendersonville to Brevard, hosting hikes and school field trips, and restoring habitat for our largest native fish along the French Broad River. We are so grateful for Hunter Subaruās investment in keeping our community healthy, active, and connected to nature!

Without Hunter Subaru's support from start to finish the Hendersonville Triathlon wouldn't have been possible this year. The race is in its 2nd year and takes place at Patton Park in Hendersonville, North Carolina. With events now coming out the other side of the pandemic, the expenses for events have skyrocketed. It seems that businesses are trying to recoup monies that have been lost during the pandemic thus increasing our expenses to produce our events. The Hendersonville Triathlon is no different. The triathlon community is small compared to the running community in our region, but it is equally important to invest and support the multi-sport athletes in our community. Monies from the event and sponsorship also supported the Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway, the Hendersonville YMCA, iDream Athletes Foundation and the Henderson County VIPs. Thank you to Hunter Subaru for supporting the multi-sport athletes and our non-profit partners in our community. Thank you Hunter Subaru for continuing to spread the love in your community!

The exceptional support of Hunter Subaru made the Drive for Kids Tournament possible for the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County this May - raising over $40,000 in just one day of play. As presenting sponsor, Hunter Subaru supported our work with their donation, playing in our tournament, and recruiting players and new advocates for the Boys & Girls Club. Hunterās support allows the Club to continue its work ā empowering and engaging our members' mind, body, and soul as they develop into responsible, productive, caring citizens. With an annual, all-inclusive membership of just $5 a year per member, support and advocacy from Hunter Subaru keep us moving forward and sharing the love for each of the local youth we serve. We are proud to have Hunter Subaru as our neighbor, community partner, and friend. Their support directly provides crucial funding to our Club and helps us care for hundreds of youth each day.

On June 6, 2021 the Blue Ridge Bicycle Club held our 17th annual Hunter Subaru WNC Flyer, a bicycle ride through the French Broad River valley, Hendersonville, Laurel Park, Etowah, Horse Shoe, Brevard and Rosman. Because of Covid restriction the event was limited to 500 riders. But the popularity if this ride is such that the event sold out in two hours. In spite of the limited number of spot the event was a tremendous success, and most riders have told us they will be back next year. The support that Hunter Subaru has provided enables us to put almost $20,000 every year back into our communities to make them safer for people to be active. A few of our projects have been the Ecusta Trail, the Oklawaha Greenway, the Clear Creek Greenway, and the Mills River Valley Trail. The pandemic has shown us that it is critical for people to be active and to stay healthy. The Blue Ridge Bicycle Club thanks Hunter Subaru for their tremendous support in helping us make our communities better places to live.

Time and time again, Hunter Subaru continues to show its commitment to creating a community that embraces compassionate care for its animals. Blue Ridge Humane Society is so grateful to Hunter Subaru & Subaru of America for choosing to support pets in your community through the Subaru Share the Love Event. Hunter customers choose which organization to donate to on their behalf from Subaru of America and Hunter Subaru during the event. The event performed beyond our expectations and raised $13,709 for our lifesaving work! These much-needed funds will provide hundreds of homeless pets with new beginnings and support the dozen community programs we offer to help pet owners. Thank you, Hunter Subaru, for standing up to make our difference for the voiceless members of our community and making a promise to better the lives of animals in Henderson County!

The Inaugural Jump off Rock Half Marathon, a point-to-point, downhill, scenic half marathon and a downtown 10k took place in Hendersonville, North Carolina on Saturday, May 8, 2021. The event encompassed the definition of community. Hunter Subaru's support of this new event to the City of Hendersonville and the Town of Laurel Park was a smashing success! The first-time event sold out early and the community was vibrant, busy and full of life all weekend long. The pandemic has impacted communities, businesses and non-profits and this event, with the support of Hunter Subaru, helped give a much-needed boost to our local economy. The Hendersonville Family YMCA and the Friends of Laurel Park were both beneficiaries of the event with donations going back to each organization to help with their upcoming programs this year. This brand new, annual event finished in downtown Hendersonville and coincided with the monthly LoveHendo celebrations. Hendersonville was glowing with energy and excitement on race day. Runners were happy and business owners were thrilled to see downtown Hendersonville come back to some normalcy after it has been such a difficult year. Thanks to Hunter Subaru for helping the community of Hendersonville make a come-back. We appreciate all you do to help keep our community healthy and active! We canāt wait for this event to welcome back hundreds of runners again in 2022 on Saturday, May 14th.

Back in August of 2020, Temre purchased her 2020 Subaru Crosstrek from Hunter Subaru. This was her first brand new car and spent hours researching the best vehicle for her and her family. In the middle of March 2021, she was in an accident with a drunk driver traveling 65 MPH in the wrong direction on the highway. She swerved into the median to avoid a head-on collision and the other driver hit her directly on the side of her Crosstrek. Luckily, Temre walked away from this accident, unfortunately, her Crosstrek was not so lucky.

Let's face it this pandemic has thrown a big wrench in events and planning for them. We have had to completely revamp how events are produced since COVID hit the world last March 2020. Fortunately, we have found safe ways to produce small events with staggered starts, temperature screenings and other safety measures put in place from start to finish. And guess what, Hunter Subaru has been there to support along the way. Since we have eliminated all potential gathering and hanging out spots at events, we needed to find a way to be able to give all the participants a 'award' after they finished and then hold our main Awards Ceremony a few days later online instead of in person. Hunter Subaru has come to the rescue! They are committed to supporting us as we produce safe, in-person events and they have stood by us every step of the way. They know that our community needs to find ways to stay healthy both physically and mentally and providing these opportunities to do that is so important! We have been able to provide each participant a finisher medals at all our race events since COVID started because of the help from Hunter Subaru. Our participants love these keepsakes and they put a smile on their faces when they see how beautiful they are! Thank you Hunter Subaru for your commitment to support grassroots events and to help keep our community healthy! Cheers!

Hunter is leveraging an investment to raise even more funds for the children of Henderson County. Smart Start Partnership for Children is so appreciative of the sponsorship support of the Smart Start Bearfootinā Bear. By sponsoring the purchase of a Bearfootinā Bear that will ultimately be auctioned off to raise even more funds, Hunter is supporting the important work of building a strong community by building strong families. Smart Start Partnership for Children invests in young children and their families to provide the opportunities children need to be successful in school and in life. There are only 2,000 days between the time a baby is born and when he or she will begin kindergarten. During that time, brain architecture is forming, creating the foundation for all future learning. Smart Startās mission is to support, educate, and advocate to build a strong foundation for young children in our community. The vision is one where all families have access to quality services so that children in Henderson County have an opportunity to reach their full potential.

Each day, Hunter Subaru invests in youth at The Boys & Girls Club. But each year, one special youth is selected to receive help in reaching their education goals ā our Youth of the Year. The Youth of the Year title is the highest award a Club member can be given, going on to compete at State levels and beyond as ambassador of our work. Hunter Subaru recognizes the accomplishments of this youth with a college aid award of $1,000. The stories of these exceptional young people share prove just how important our work and Hunter Subaruās investment is to our community. In fact, we think they say it best. So here what our Youth of the Year had to say: Marcella: āI am a lifelong Club kid, starting at six years old. My sophomore year of high school was a year of angst, grief, and loss. Through all of it, the Boys and Girls Club was a steady and constant source of support. I lost motivation and fell behind in school. The sadness, anger, and anxiety made it feel like I carried bricks on my back. I became quiet. I spent days at a time in my room. The emptiness was the worst pain I have ever experienced. (At the Club) I became close to Ms. Marla and Ms. Gina, whoās smile and laugh always cheered me up. They were there for me and encouraged me to talk about what I was going through. Ms. Marla gave me healthy ways to express my pain like painting to release anger and anxiety. I decided that I wouldnāt treat the Club as a place to hide anger and pain behind a smile. It was a place to express feelings. I learned to open up, to connect with others, and to use my voice. I learned how to take care of myself.ā All our nominees are a direct testimonial to the investment Hunter Subaru has made. We are so grateful. Thank you, Hunter Subaru!

When COVID-19 cancelled virtually all cycling and running events in western North Carolina, Hunter Subaru stepped up early on as Presenting Sponsor for the Tour dāApple charity cycling event on Labor Day in September 2020. With Hunter Subaruās generous contribution and Idaph Eventsā ingenuity and event management, Four Seasons Rotary Club of Hendersonville, NC, did the almost impossible - hosted a socially distanced and COVID free cycling event through the apple orchards and up and down the mountains of Henderson County for 375 avid cyclists. What does that have to do with winter coats!?! Many of the cyclists made extra donations, totaling $1043. Four Seasons Rotary Club then gave 100 % of those donations to Interfaith Assistance Ministry (IAM) for its purchase of 75 new winter coats for children in need. So without Hunter Subaru there would have been no Tour dāApple in 2020; no cyclists giving an extra $1043; and no check from the Rotary Club for winter coats. Many thanks to Hunter Subaru and Randy Hunter for making possible the Tour dāApple and winter coats possible for kids in this really crazy year.

The 2020 edition of the Hunter Subaru Strut Your Mutt 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk benefiting Blue Ridge Humane looked a lot different this year. Instead of a starting line there was just a course map, instead of a mass start, there was a weeklong window to complete the event since it went virtual. But throughout all the changes and safety precautions that were put into place, Hunter Subaru never wavered as our race presenter! Instead, the 2020 edition of the run/walk did something almost more special, it brought people together with their friends, family, and of course, dogs, to complete the event and support Blue Ridge Humane on their own, all while celebrating the love of a pet, even while apart!

Hunter Subaru has always been a strong supporter of Blue Ridge Community Collegeās students, particularly its Automotive department, not only through scholarships, but also by continuing to employ our hard-working graduates. Hunter Subaru was the first group to approach Blue Ridge leadership about the possibility of an automotive apprenticeship; an idea that came to fruition in the fall of 2020 and continues to attract countless students from our surrounding community. The Hunter organization actively participates in many events the College hosts. They also let our Transportation Technologies students take part in job shadow events every semester, which offers an invaluable look into the professional world. We are so grateful to Hunter Subaru for their continued interest in our students and continued support of the automotive industry.

Hunter Subaru is protecting natural places, inspiring the love of nature, and getting people of all kinds outside! Conserving Carolina is so grateful to Hunter Subaru for providing a $5,000 matching grant to support Conserving Carolinaās Land Trust Day campaign. This matching gift helped us raise over $25,000 in just four days for conservation. This critical funding supports important projects like the creation of a 130+ mile state trail network in Hickory Nut Gorge, the expansion of DuPont State Recreational Forest, and engagement opportunities like field trips to conservation land for kids in our region, 31 life changing AmeriCorp Project Conserve service positions, and Conserving Carolinaās Hiking Challenge. We are so grateful to Hunter Subaru for investing in our environment and in our community. Thank you!

These days everyone needs a smile and a note to let you know someone cares. The Boys & Girls Club was able to do just that for nearly 1,000 individuals due to the generosity of Hunter Subaru in July. Thanks to their charitable support of our āGiving Outside the Boxā project, the Boys & Girls Club sent care packages throughout the community aimed at touching lives Mind, Body, and Soul. With a crossword, a recipe for chicken soup, personal thank you notes, words of encouragement, as well as stories from Boys & Girls Club members, art, and hand soap to care for your body the response has been tremendous. āPeople have been calling just to say thanks and that it made them feel good.ā Remarked Stacie Marlowe, Director of Resource Development. And thatās exactly what Hunter Subaru made possible with their support; spread a little joy, and a lot of happiness. With Hunterās support setting the tone in community giving donations have been steadily arriving at the Boys & Girls Club in response to the projectās thoughtfulness. This has allowed the Club to continue to serve youth throughout this summer, reaching 266 youth with tutoring and education interventions, physical fitness and wellness programs, as well as art, social and emotional learning, counseling, and encouraging relationships. So remember, wash those hands and take a page from Hunter Subaru ā Share the Love, Not the Germs.

Thank you so much for your support! Hunter Subaru's recent food and financial donations are providing 4,692 meals to our WNC community! During these unprecedented times the continued support from our community partners and donors is crucial to our ability to keep serving the growing number of people in need of food. The support we received from Hunter Subaru will bring both food and hope to so many in our community! We are so grateful!

Since 2003 Hunter Subaru has invested more than $325,000 into The Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County, shaping positive futures for many of the communityās most at-risk youth. With Hunterās partnership, the Club serves over 1,300 young people each year with year-round after school and summer programs that promote school success and career readiness, healthy lifestyles and positive personal decision making. Because Club members typically share two common denominators, poverty and fractured families, this work is vitally important. Keeping the Club accessible is vitally important as well. Hunter Subaru is a key partner in removing a critical financial barrier for families: an all-inclusive annual membership costs just $5 per child! As a leading event sponsor for all Club fundraisers, Hunter Subaru also enables the Boys & Girls Club to host four signature events each year, reaching deep into our community and generating over 17% of our annual budget. Thanks to the generosity of this business, daily at the Club, hundreds of young people have the opportunity to eat free, healthy foods, receive homework help, take part in volunteer service, create art, engage in physical activity, build positive relationships, and even earn their first jobs. Hunter Subaru is more than just a company. For the young people who need us the most, Hunter Subaru is an agent of change, helping the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County to inspire and enable young people to realize their full potential as responsible, productive, caring citizens. We are ever grateful, and our community forever changed due to Hunter Subaruās tremendous support.

In 2019 Hunter Subaru shared the love with Blue Ridge Humane Society and sponsored the Strut Your Mutt 5K. The event allowed BRHS to raise much needed funds for the care of our animals. Over 120 runners and walkers, both human and furry enjoyed the event! As a result of Hunter Subaruās support, following the run four adoptable dogs found their new homes and the happily ever after that all dogs deserve! Thanks to Hunter Subaru for making sure that Twinkie, Gummy Bear, Augustine, and Allistar found love and a family that day, and for making sure every animal at Blue Ridge Humane has their chance to have Love and a Family!

Hunter Subaru of Hendersonville, NC literally saved my race from being cancelled!!! Hunter came on board well ahead of our Trail Race in DuPont State Forest as the Title Sponsor. Planning was going well, and the event even sold out! Race week came and I went to set up the course. An unpredictable snow began to fall. It kept falling. Four inches later, and upon completion of marking the 15.5 mile course, the Forest Service Ranger called and told me we had to postpone the event. Thankfully we had a makeup date the following week. NO PROBLEM!!! As the forecast came out for that following week, it called for rain. LOTS OF RAIN! Over 5" of rain. I knew DuPont would close its single track trails (rightly so), and I would need an alternate course, so I submitted and had an alternate course approved. Then the monkey wrench was thrown into the spokes! We weren't going to be able to park in DuPont. I had to find another place to park and shuttle the runners to DuPont. An unpredictable expense, and something without the Hunter Subaru sponsorship (and the generous donations of the runners), the event would have been cancelled! I am so grateful that Hunter Subaru supports local events like mine and allows me the opportunity to share the open spaces so many of us forget about and create experiences for so many people that not only create great memories, but lasting friendships amongst what were total strangers prior to the event! Hunter Subaru is a partner I'm thankful to have! You'll recognize my Subaru Outback driving around to trailheads and races. I bought it at Hunter! Respectfully submitted, Aaron Saft

Journey to be FREE Naturally is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit and critical cancer support resource for individuals coping with the impact of a cancer diagnosis in western North Carolina. This all-volunteer nonprofit is self-funded. Cancer is a traumatic experience that can change your whole life. Struggling with anxiety and depression is a normal response when coping with cancer. Dealing with cancer has a significant financial impact. This is why we offer our programs at no cost to make sure those impacted have access to the programs they need and want. However, there is a cost to this nonprofit. This is why we are so grateful to the Hunter Subaru team! Journey to be FREE was selected as the charity to receive the funds raised from their "No Shave November" fundraiser. Thank you to all who participated in this fundraiser! Your generous support is greatly appreciated! The number of new cancer cases is steadily increasing each year. It is our mission to make sure that individuals impacted by cancer have access to the support, education, social connection, resources, wellness programs, and community they need (and want) to help move through a very difficult time in their life. Thanks to Hunter Subaru's support, we can continue to focus on making the cancer journey better from the point of diagnosis through treatment, recovery, survivorship, and beyond!!

At Four Seasons Rotary Club of Hendersonville, we are truly grateful for Randy Hunterās and Hunter Subaruās seven years as a Presenting Sponsor of the Tour dāApple on Labor Day each year. On Labor Day 2019, well over 600 cyclists enjoyed from twenty-five to one hundred miles of cycling through the mountains and apple orchards of Henderson County, NC - all thanks to Hunter Subaru and Subaru of America. Their support enabled our Rotary Club to provide funds for scholarships and student emergency funds for Blue Ridge Community College, books for local school libraries, refreshments for Special Needs Sports, meals for homeless students, and many more projects. Randy, many thanks! More at www.tourdapple.com.

Hunter Subaru finds so many ways to support Blue Ridge Humane Society with the Subaru Love Promise! Every year our animals receive are gift with toys and treats in addition to the pawsitively awesome support that Hunter Subaru provides for events like Strut Your Mutt 5K Walk & Run in Hendersonville. The support of Hunter Subaru over the years has helped Blue Ridge Humane save even more animals and inspired the next generation of supporters like Daniel who made his mom drive him out to the Adoption Center on the inaugural Make a Dog's Day because he HAD to donate food to our animals for the Subaru of America, Inc. Make a Dog's Day! Thank you Randy, Tom, and Hunter Automotive for being Hometown Heros to the pets and pet owners of WNC!

Conserving Carolina loveās our home in the mountains and foothills, and we are so grateful that Hunter Subaru does too! Thanks to help from Hunter Subaru, Conserving Carolina raised over $105,000 this year at our annual Conservation Celebration fundraiser. This funding enables us to protect precious biodiversity, create parks and greenways, keep water clean, preserve historic farmland, and connect the next generation to nature. Together, we are improving community wellness by providing natural spaces, safe parks, and greenways that promote physical and mental health. We are making sure that everyone has an opportunity to get outside, and we are connecting children with nature so they have a healthy place to learn, and grow. We are so grateful that Hunter Subaru helps us leave this lasting impact on our community for generations to come.

āOh goodness. Without Camplify? Gosh, I donāt know where we would beā. Frances, 77, is raising her great-grandson Derick as a single parent in the mountains of Western North Carolina. They live in a cabin, and sheās had a number of surgeries, but she perseveres as matriarch of their household. At the end of the day, Francesās story is one of hope: Derick was nominated in the 4th grade to begin a nine year leadership journey to change their family tree. What began as a challenging weekend camp in elementary school has transformed into a year-round leadership journey. Now a high school (and Camplify) graduate, Derick served as a counselor-in-training, volunteer at monthly middle school Pathmakers programs, and as a LEAD Captain before becoming a paid camp staff member this summer. President and CEO of Hunter Subaru, Tom Hunter, called Camplify out of the blue years ago to say that they wanted to become annual sponsors. This year, Hunter sponsored the Camp For All BBQ Ball. Events such as these support whopping 776 nights at Camplify leadership camps this year. Camplifyās five levels of programming showcase our commitment: to benefit youth who are facing lifeās obstacles through experiential learning anchored by camp. Camplify grants students the opportunity to develop skills outside of the classroom -- skills that every 21st century employer looks for, and skills that every person deserves to learn. Through our progression, students from grades 4 - 12 thrive by learning skills needed to become successful community members as they continue their education and enter into the workforce, perhaps as Hunter Subaru employees in the near future.

For over 20 years Pardee Hospital Foundation has worked with women in the community to provide funds for uninsured women in need of medical care. Literally hundreds of women have been assisted through the generous support of individuals and companies in our community. In addition to raising funds, we also honor women who are survivors - women who give one another courage and hope in the face of difficult health journeys. We welcome Hunter Subaru to our strong list of community supporters and want you to know that your gift saves lives.

Julie Klever is one of the lucky ones. Last May, during a routine check-up, Julie mentioned she had been experiencing shortness of breath in recent months, and her astute doctor decided she needed to have further testing done on her heart and lungs. What was revealed was a shock to everyone. Julie had Stage 3 Follicular Lymphoma. She felt wonderful. She looked wonderful. She had cancer. It was so hard to wrap her head around the idea. So, why is Julie lucky? To this day, Julie is asymptomatic and on a āwatch and seeā protocol. She has not had to begin any treatment. Her blood work continues to be perfect. And Julie knows just how fortunate she is. Thatās why Julie wanted to be a part of the Subaru Loves to Care partnership with LLS and help deliver blankets, kidsā craft kits and messages of hope from Subaru customers to cancer patients in her local community. The month she was diagnosed, Julieās niece, who works for a cancer center in Columbus, OH, sent her information on the local LLS chapter in North Carolina. She immediately reached out to get involved. One might say Julie started to give back to others, even before she needed the kindness herself. Being able to meet the team at the local Subaru retailer, Hunter Subaru, to thank them personally for opting into the program each year, was very meaningful to Julie. Fixed Operations Manager, Kirk Firmin, Marketing Manager, Kate Redmon, General Manager, AJ Jones and Owner, Tom Hunter welcomed Julie and knew that she was involved with LLS and that she was a survivor. Her T-shirt said so! Julie caravanned with the team to the hospital and met with the staff of Mission SECU Cancer Center in Asheville, NC. Though the team was unable to have direct access to patients that morning, the staff was so grateful for the gifts and began giving them out immediately. Julie had this to say about her experience with Hunter Subaru. āI live just 10 minutes from the Subaru dealership, and already knew them to be very civic minded and involved in the community. So it was no surprise that they would opt into this program every year itās been offered. Receiving a gift like a warm blanket or craft kit with a message of hope and inspiration from a stranger does truly make a difference in a cancer patient's life. Being a part of this āsharing the loveā was incredibly significant to me as well. I know that one day I will be in this hospital being treated for my cancer, and that I am one of the lucky ones today. Thank you, Hunter Subaru, for caring so much about those fighting cancer in our hometown.ā

Out of the 1,200+ young people served annually at the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County, most are at high risk of school failure, bullying, substance abuse, teen pregnancy, and other dangers. This is because they share two common denominators: 88% live in low-income households and 55% are raised by single adults. Nevertheless, these youth are defying the odds by succeeding in school, dodging risky behaviors, and giving back to the community through volunteerism. Through the years, Hunter Subaruās steadfast partnership was a driving force in the Clubās generation-changing outcomesāoutcomes like a 100% high school graduation rate, 77% of members making it on the honor roll, and 92% of youth reporting that the Club helped them stay out of trouble. Hunter Subaruās involvement also helped keep the Club accessible. An annual membership costs families only $5/child. Since 2003, Hunter Subaru has invested more than $236,000 in Club programs serving at-risk youth, helping make all of this possible. But, it turns out that their early, significant contributions were just the beginning. In recent years, the Boys & Girls Club became a victim of its own success. Demand for programs and services began to outpace the organizationās capacity to serve. In 2016 alone, 422 young people were placed on waiting lists and 204 never gained membership. While the Club responded with a capital expansion, it turned out that building new program space wasnāt the biggest challenge. The more urgent need was securing sustainable operating support to keep doors open, once construction was complete. Once again, Hunter Subaru stepped up as the driving force for positive community change. This year, they became the Clubās exclusive Great Futures Corporate Champion with transformational gifts of $50,000 per year for five years, including a $15,000, per year, challenge gift that has already leveraged an additional $114,000 from other businesses and individuals. āWe believe the future well-being of our community depends on how we raise our children. The Club does an outstanding job helping young people achieve in school and prepare for careers, live healthy lifestyles, and make positive personal choices,ā said Randy Hunter, President of Hunter Subaru. We are so grateful for Hunter Subaruās support and hope that youāll share the love by featuring their commitment at the national level. Thank you.

Often while cycling, I take a drink from my Hunter Subaru water bottle, and I am constantly reminded to be grateful for the great support that Hunter Subaru and Subaru of America provide for cycling and other athletic events in western North Carolina. At most running, cyclocross, triathlons, and charity cycling events, Hunter Subaru and Subaru of America are there supporting and encouraging amateur athletes. Many thanks to Randy Hunter and Subaru for making western North Carolina a cycling paradise for me and thousands of like-minded amateurs.

On June 28th, Hunter Subaru, located in beautiful Hendersonville, NC, joined LLS NC to visit Mission Health SECU Cancer Center bringing 80 warm blankets and Subaru customer care cards with messages of hope and inspiration to patients during their infusion therapy time. The recipients were so touched by Subaruās generosity and told us they often get cold during their treatments and that the blankets were the perfect gift. We donāt always have the privilege of personally delivering to patients due to privacy laws, but in this case, the Cancer Center Executive Director, Marika Loveless, saw the value and made it happen. We were honored to have in attendance Randy Hunter, Hunter Subaru Owner, Eric Swanson, District Sales Manager and Thom Morrow, Sales Manager joining LLS NC on this mission, and we thank them for their genuine caring for others. Hunter Subaruās impressive record of supporting the people in the community theyāre serving is well known. To that point, Mariann Smith from the Hope Womenās Cancer Center also attended the presentation and brought back blankets for some of her patients. Additionally, Subaru provided kid's craft kits at the blanket delivery, and Melanie Clark from the Pediatric Oncology unit was on hand to happily accept adorable lunch boxes filled with crayons and markers for her young patients. That sunny afternoon, there was no doubt that the Subaru team received as much, if not more, than they gave.

Hunter Subaru has been an incredible, generous sponsor for the Tour d'Apple cycling event from the beginning (2013). Hunter's Support & Gear (SAG) vehicles rescued cyclists with break-downs, and even those who just decided that our mountains were just a bit too much for them - but not many. Having Hunter's SAG vehicles riding along all the Tour routes comforted every cyclist that Hunter was there to help if needed. Over the past three years Hunter Subaru has helped the Four Seasons Rotary Club raise more than $25,000 for local projects like college scholarships, help for homeless students, books for school libraries, Special Needs Sports and many more. Our heartfelt thanks to Randy Hunter and his willing and helpful staff.

On June 20th Hunter Subaru joined with Vocational Solutions to offer the 2nd Annual Park 2 Park Race. This Flat Fast and Fun 8k course does more than just offer runners a great shady place to run on a hot summer day. The race proceeds support the mission of Vocational Solutions, which has been dedicated to providing career and life skills training to adults with disabilities or other vocational barriers, in a safe, caring environment for 40 years. Hunter Subaru makes this race possible with their sponsorship, then goes the extra mile. The dealership hosted race packet pick up, offered a strong presence and volunteer support on race day. And had multiple employees toe the start line to race. Hunter Subaru is a vital community supporter and corporate leader in our local area. Henderson County and Western North Carolina continues to be blessed by the generosity of the owners and employees.

After first seeing the new wilderness green Outback, I fell in love. I knew I wanted a new Subaru, (my 4th one now) after retiring from teaching. I searched through several dealerships for the right price and color. Finding the color was easy enough in Asheville, NC but the experience left a bit to be desired. Traveling on to Hendersonville, NC proved to be to my advantage. Billy Bryant at Hunter Subaru worked diligently to find the green I wanted at a very fair price. His professionalism and concern for getting the job done right is very refreshing. Now I have my car and am extremely pleased to recommend the Hendersonville dealership to all.

We would like to thank our customers for participating in our E Waste Recycling event during the month of April. With your help, we were able to prevent 2,090 lbs of carbon emissions from polluting the atmosphere. This is equivalent to saving 81 trees, 356 gallons of gasoline, 3,030 plastic bottles, and 13,936 aluminum cans. Thank you for helping strengthen the Subaru Love Promise!

1,000 cyclists gathered at Oskar Blues Brewery in Brevard on June 7 for The Hunter Subaru Fletcher Flyer. They ranged in age from 5, who boasted that he rode almost 30 miles, to age 87. The bikes varied from hand cycles, tandems, recumbents, and ellipticals to traditional road bikes. Nineteen states were represented with riders coming from as far away as California and Colorado. They had four distances to choose from: 100 miles, 62 miles, 50 miles and 31 miles. After the ride everyone relaxed to a little Bluegrass, some BBQ, and Oskar Blues beer or a root beer float. The Flyer is a sanctioned ride for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. This year five states were represented and the riders raised over $283,000 for research. The Flyer is a charity ride which benefits Muddy Sneakers, Trips for Kids WNC and bicycle advocacy. Thanks to our sponsors and the 100+ volunteers who make this ride possible. Our entire community has benefited from Hunter Subaru's generosity as the premiere sponsor of the Mad Mountain Mud Run. The event is the first of its kind in WNC and is one that invites fun with a 3+ mile obstacle challenge in the mud - averaging 1350 participants, 200 volunteers & thousands of spectators, Hunter is helping make some incredible memories. But, more importantly, this partnership supports Hands On!, Hendersonville's children's museum located on Main Street. We provide educational exhibits, classes and programs that spark a love for learning -- in our facility, in our schools & libraries and at special events. It takes support from the entire community to educate our youth, and we are proud to have the dedicated people at Hunter helping us teach the children of Hendersonville.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is the largest no-kill animal shelter in NC saving over 4,200 animals' lives in 2014. We receive no government funding and rely solely on donations and sponsorships to perform our life saving work. We applaud Hunter Subaru for their continued support as a "Top Dog Sponsor" of our annual fundraising event, "Run for the Paws". This year's event was sold out with over 500 runners and walkers and their 4-legged friends. We have the utmost respect and appreciation for the fine folks at Hunter Subaru for their continued support.

North Carolina Outward Bound School (NCOBS) hosted a half century bike ride in honor of Collier Lilly. The ride offered a beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain route, with 3,600 feet of climbing, that started and ended at Carrier Park in Asheville. In keeping with Outward Bound's bedrock principles of challenge and discovery, the Collier Lilly Ride for NCOBS took riders over challenging mountain passes and allowed them to discover scenic roads for the first time. This exciting event was held on Memorial Day Weekend and in conjunction with the ever popular Mountain Sports Festival. The event raised $5,000 for scholarships for WNC youth to attend NCOBS courses. Currently more than 39% of our students receive scholarships or financial aid each year. Our impacts are measurable and lasting, whether for military veterans, youth, struggling teens or inner city high schoolers. In one recent study about the impact of NCOBS wilderness courses all of the more than 200 NCOBS participants surveyed reported significant improvements in leadership, character development and environmental awareness.

Hunter Subaru has generously donated to our sporting events that contribute directly back to local and community organizations in our region. We promote healthy living and lifestyle in Western North Carolina by encouraging physical activity in our region. We design and produce cycling, running and multi-sport events that we would also want to participate in!

On May 16th, 2015, over 300 runners participated in one of the most popular trail running events in the Southeast- The Cradle to Grave Races at the Cradle of Forestry in America Historic Site in Pisgah National Forest. Proceeds from the event go to the Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association, a non-profit based out of Pisgah Forest,NC who has a long-standing mission of promoting educational, recreational, and interpretive opportunities about forest and water resources, natural history, and the Cradle of Forestry in America. The support from Hunter Subaru has helped to create an event which helps individuals and families live a healthier, more active lifestyle as they set goals for the event- many of whom participated in their first running event, or ran a longer distance than they ever have before. In addition to the direct impact that the Cradle to Grave 30k, 12k, and 5k Trail Races have on race participants, the funds generated from the event help support educational programming at the Cradle of Forestry In America Historic Site(once a part of the Biltmore Estate and home to the very first Forestry School in America). Program topics range from Blue Ridge Culture, to the Analyzing the Health of Ecosystems, to Natural Resource Management, all of which help inspire present and future generations to be better stewards of our public and private lands.

Since 1993, the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County has nurtured and supported the children of our community. Annually, 1,200+ Club members, ages 6-18, benefit from all-day and after-school programs that nurture and support their development: mind, body and spirit. At the Club's 36,000 square-foot campus, members tap into award-winning programs that focus on Education & Career Development, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, Health & Life Skills, Character & Leadership, and the Arts. The best part is that an all-inclusive membership only costs families $5.00 per child, per year. Partners like Subaru help keep the Boys & Girls Club accessible to the children who need us the most in Henderson County. We applaud Subaru and the generous leadership of Hunter Automotive for their investment in the youngest citizens of our local community. Together, we have a lot of love and gratitude - to share.

On April 25th, western NC community members inspired hope in the Legacy Run presented by Hunter Subaru. The event served as a fundraiser for Inheritance of Hope (IoH), a local non-profit that inspires hope in young families facing the loss of a parent at Legacy Retreats, all-expenses-paid experiences where families create lifelong memories & receive tools to navigate the challenges of a parent's terminal illness. After a pre-race celebration dinner featuring Sales Professional Gala Rice, runners & walkers of all ages converged on the "Heart of Brevard ". Subaru pace cars provided by Hunter Subaru led the way. "Hunter Subaru has been a presenting sponsor since our inaugural race & their long-standing commitment to our community continues to impact families navigating the challenges of terminal illness," stated Deric Milligan, Exec. Dir. of IoH. Brevard residents John & Heather Crawford, who attended a Legacy Retreat last August, participated. John, diagnosed with ALS, navigated the course in his motorized chair. As he crossed the finish line with family and friends, Deric Milligan was carrying an umbrella to keep John, a local Boy Scout leader, dry. "It was a blessing for me to be there, to hear the crowd cheering John on, & to see the smile on his face. It's a moment I will cherish forever. We are grateful that Hunter Subaru lives out the Subaru Love Promise by putting an umbrella over a stormy situation for hurting families."
